Imperial Beach celebrates library centennial

” The Imperial Beach Library is celebrating its centennial this year. Its actual birthday is Oct. 25. The community along with local elected officials, got together on Oct. 17 to celebrate 100 years of stories at the Boys & Girls’ Club.”

” Although much has changed in Imperial Beach in the past 100 years one thing has remained the same. Residents have always loved to read. On Oct. 25,1915, the first Imperial Beach library was opened inside the post office at the corner of what is now Seacoast Drive and Evergreen Avenue.”
