Anaheim replaces old bookmobile with bigger, better ‘mobile library’

From The Orange County Register

“Its shelves are filled with titles unheard of when Anaheim’s bookmobile began service in 1958 – “Dog Man”? “Diary of a Wimpy Kid”? – but the city’s new mobile library is still rolling out to neighborhoods to offer books and a whole lot more.In 60 years, the city library system hasn’t stopped bringing its services directly to kids. But after maintenance issues took the last bookmobile out of commission for months, officials decided to replace it with a $226,000 customized RV, paid for with a federal grant and money from a city vehicle fund. The cheerfully painted Anaheim Public Mobile Library made its first neighborhood stop this week.”
