” June is Elder Abuse Awareness Month.Backers hope to focus attention on the problem of physical, emotional, and financial abuse of elders.It also seeks to understand the challenges and opportunities presented by an aging population, and brings together senior citizens, their caregivers, local government, and the private sector to exchange ideas about how best to reduce incidents of violence towards elders and increase reporting of such abuse.A presentation will be held at the Pleasanton Public Library on June 3 at 1:30 p.m. It will be hosted by the Pleasanton Police Department and the Pleasanton Public Library.”
