Nevada County Library’s Book Buddy program delivers for homebound locals

From The Union

” As an avid reader, Judith Bell doesn’t like to consider what it would be like if she couldn’t access Nevada County’s network of libraries and the thousands of books they hold. That’s part of the reason that, a couple times a month, Bell checks out books and other materials from the library and brings them to a homebound senior as part of the Nevada County Library’s Book Buddy program, in which volunteers check out books, magazines and other materials and deliver them to local residents who are elderly, handicapped, chronically ill or confined to their home for long stretches of time due to injury or illness.”
