St. Helena: Jennifer Baker’s fond farewell

from the St. Helena Star

“About 60 people came to the Carnegie Building Friday to say ‘thank you’ to former Library Director Jennifer Baker. With former Mayor Lowell Smith acting as emcee, Baker received tributes to her energy, hard work, and successes during her seven and a half years in charge of the St. Helena Public Library … In 2014 the St. Helena Public Library had the highest circulation of any California library, and more than six times the national average. Last year the library was recognized as a runner-up for the best small library in America by Library Journal, an award funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. It’s earned praise from organizations like the Knight Foundation and the American Library Association.”
