from the San Diego Union Tribune

” Public libraries have two weeks left to apply for state funding for adult literacy programs. An additional $2 million in state funding has been earmarked for libraries to join the adult literacy program that provides one-on-one tutoring to Californians who want to improve reading skills. The program, run by California Library Literary Services, has helped more than 250,000 residents learn to read and write over the past 30 years.”
