Council oks $1.3B San Diego budget

from the San Diego Union-Times

“San Diego City Council members have unanimously adopted a $1.3 billion operating budget that bolsters neighborhoods with money for street and sidewalk repair, tree trimming and expanded hours at libraries and recreation centers … The money for extra library hours — $2.3 million for three more hours on Saturdays at 23 branches — was a last-minute budget addition the council made on Monday. The council freed up much of the money by postponing proposals to spend $1.5 million on stoplight synchronization and $500,000 on upgrading tot lots.”
