San Luis Obispo: Bequest erases Friends of the Cambria Library’s debt

from the Cambrian

” A generous bequest from the estates of two longtime Cambria residents means that Friends of the Cambria Library is debt free for the first time since the group and the county agreed to go in 50-50 to pay for a new, larger facility. In November, Friends combined a $240,000 donation from Evelyn Therese Ericson, and her sister Margaret ‘Meg’ Helen Ericson, with about $140,000 the nonprofit already had in hand. Friends then paid off the $383,908 still owed to the San Luis Obispo County for the group’s share of the new $2.8 million library building at 1043 Main St.”
