“The historic branch library on San Pablo Avenue in North Oakland was closed last year for repairs, and it is now open once again. A public celebration is planned at 10 a.m. Feb. 21. The Oakland City Council in July approved a construction budget of $163,000 to pay for restoration of deteriorated windows and other renovations to the Georgian revival-style landmark building, originally constructed in 1917-18 and known as the Golden Gate Branch.”
